Description
The travel documentary Turkish Aegean takes you on a journey to the Aegean Sea between Dalyan and Ölüdeniz.
The movie begins in Calis Beach near Fethiye, one of the most popular holiday destinations of many European tourists. You will see the beautiful beach promenade and take a trip to Fethiye. But the highlight here is a boat trip to the islands of the Aegean Sea, which begins and ends in Fethiye.
Next you make an excursion to the travertine terrace formations of Pamukkale. These have evolved over thousands of years by calcareous thermal sources. The terraces are part of the World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The journey continues in Dalyan with a river trip on the Dalyan river along the Lycian rock tombs to the Dalyan Delta. This delta is up to the mouth into the Mediterranean Sea a nature reserve. Directly at the mouth there is the Iztuzu beach, where sea turtles lay their eggs in the summer. This 4 km long sandy beach can only be reached by boat and may only be used by tourists during the day.
Another tour takes you to the excavations of the ancient city Tlos, located on a plateau from which the Lycian dominated the people in the past. At a stop during this tour you will see the Yaka Park, a restaurant, that was built into the nature. But the highlight of this tour is a visit of Saklikent near Tlos. In Saklikent there is a gorge with a hight of about 300 m, that you can wander through. Through that gorge flows a mountain river.
The last tour on this trip will show you the beach of Ölüdeniz with its blue lagoon. For many locals and tourists Ölüdeniz has one of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey. The beach is surrounded by a mountain range. Because of this unique location, it is useful to look at Ölüdeniz from above and that is what you will experience at the end of the trip. You can participate in a paragliding flight, which begins in an altitude of 1720 m above the clouds, and ends on the beach of Ölüdeniz. This is a unique experience, because there is no better view on the dream beach of Ölüdeniz.
There’s no narration, but beautiful scenery set to music and original sound. The Blu-ray has subtitles in English and German language with explanations of the destinations.
